From Library Journal

In the usual question-and-answer format of books published by the People's Medical Society, Moyer has attempted to clarify the role vitamins and minerals play in the human body. Moyer, not a dietitian or nutritionist, has researched the information from unnamed "foremost sources in health and medical literature." After explaining general definitions, nutrition research, and ways to assess one's individual dietary status, Moyer defines each vitamin and mineral in terms of what it is, what foods contain it, how it affects the body, recommended daily amounts, and signs of deficiency and toxicity. There are few cautions about overdosing on mega-amounts of these substances (e.g., niacin), and no acknowledgment that what constitutes an overdose for one person may not affect another. Not a necessary purchase.
