Overview:
My aspiration when writing this book was to awaken the mind by introducing a creative way to view current issues in our modern-day society. The challenges of today often go unnoticed in our daily lives. I believe that by pushing our minds to ponder questions that lack absolute answers, we can improve our decision-making. Poetry is my tool to engage the mind and uncover your thoughts.

About the Author:
I am John L. Lockett, son of Isabella Lockett, my beloved mother, and Mance Lipscomb Sr., my father. I was brought up in Washington, Texas, a small rural town known as Washington on the Brazos, which used to be the first capital of Texas before it was moved to Austin. I stayed in Washington until I reached 8th grade, and afterward moved to Houston, Texas. There I graduated from Booker T. Washington High School. After I completed Basic Training and Advance Individual Training, they assigned me to my first duty in Vietnam. I retired from the Army after 24 years of honorable service to my country. Then I attended Houston Community College and the University of Houston. Once I completed my studies, I went to work for Houston Community College for 18 years; I retired from there and went to work for the Texas Veteran Commission until a medical condition permanently retired me.
